David vs Goliath

If the humiliation of the Manchester Derby wasn't enough already, United now have a trip to League Two side Aldershot looking to prevent another embarrassing defeat.

Aldershot, the only team from outside the top two divisions still left in the Carling Cup, look to heap more misery on the Reds after the demolition they received on Sunday. United, who are four-time winners of the competition, have never been knocked out by a fourth tier side. But then Sir Alex Ferguson had never suffered a 6-1 defeat as a player or manager before Sunday.

Ferguson is likely to ring the changes, but after Sunday's performance, maybe it's the first team that need minutes on the pitch. Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov, Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick could all feature, but the injured Ryan Giggs is unlikely to play. Rafael and Tom Cleverley may start after both returning to fitness.

RDI's Predicted XI

RDI's Prediction

4-1 United - should be an easy win with the Reds fielding a strong side, and won't allow a second humiliating defeat in three days.
